The company is currently seeking a full-time Cook to join the team at Encompass Health Henderson located at 10301 Jeffreys Street, Henderson, NV 89052. This role offers an hourly pay range of $20.00 to $21.00, reflecting the company’s commitment to competitive compensation. The Cook will work varying shifts primarily between 4:45 am and 5:30 pm, with more specific scheduling details provided during the interview process.
The Cook position plays a vital role in Morrison Healthcare’s mission to nourish patients, caregivers, and communities through the preparation and delivery of meals that meet stringent quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing food items according to standardized recipes and instructions, ensuring all meals are attractive, tasty, served at proper temperatures, and meet portion control standards. Attention to detail and adherence to federal, state, and corporate guidelines are essential elements of this role. In addition to meal preparation, the Cook will participate in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen areas, proper storage of food products, equipment operation, and adherence to safety protocols including HACCP standards. Preference is given to candidates with previous healthcare experience and familiarity with modified diets, as the role often involves catering to patients with specific nutritional needs. Job Requirements
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
- Experience with modified diets is a plus
- Ability to work full time including varying shifts between early morning and late afternoon
- Ability to meet food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for kitchen work including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to follow company safety policies and procedures including use of protective gloves and equipment
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area
- Ability to communicate and work well with others
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning and maintaining proper temperature
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food according to safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment
- Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
- Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies
- Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures
- Follows HACCP standards
