Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior restaurant or food preparation experience preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and food handling regulations
- Availability to work full-time Monday through Friday with rotating weekends
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to kitchen work such as lifting and operating kitchen equipment
Job Qualifications
- Prior restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to prepare food according to standardized recipes
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain portion control
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with team members and management
- Basic record keeping and inventory skills
- Commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness
- Ability to work flexible hours including rotating weekends
Job Duties
- Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
- Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and appealing
- Taste all prepared food items to maintain quality standards
- Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized, ensuring proper storage of food and supplies
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
- Assist in ordering and receiving food and supplies
- Report maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents to supervisor immediately
- Attend in-service and safety meetings
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
- Perform job safely while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- Adhere to company policies including safety protocols for handling knives and hot equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
