Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years cooking experience required if no diploma
  • food management certificate required within 6 months of employment
  • able to read and write in English
  • understanding of modified diets
  • experience in commercial or institutional food preparation

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience cooking for 2 years required in lieu of education
  • able to read and write in English
  • possess basic understanding of modified diets
  • three years in commercial or institutional food preparation or two years experience as assistant cook
  • associate's degree or equivalent in Culinary Arts

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve food using proper food handling and food safety techniques
  • maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • coordinate and assist in overall functions of the Food Service department
  • work with Registered Dietitian to ensure adequate nutrition services
  • coordinate with Director to ensure daily operations are carried out
  • prepare, season and cook food for patients, employees, visitors, and special functions
