Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certificate in health and sanitation as required by the Arlington County Health Department
  • Serve Safe Certification
  • Food Managers Certificate
  • Two years experience in food service including institutional food production
  • Experience working in residential community
  • Ability to comply with state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality
  • General computer knowledge and skills including email and basic electronic timekeeping
  • Verbal ability to read and understand written instructions, recipes, and labels

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve approximately 200 meals per day according to established methods and procedures
  • Maintain high standards of food preparation, sanitation, and safety
  • Ensure menu appeal and maximum nutritional value, including maintaining the salad bar
  • Serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner on scheduled days
  • Comply with health department regulations and facility policies
  • Read and follow recipes and written instructions accurately
  • Use basic computer skills for email communication and electronic timekeeping
