Job Description
West Henderson Hospital is a pivotal entity within The Valley Health System, representing its seventh acute care hospital. Positioned strategically at the southwest corner of Raiders Parkway and St. Rose Parkway near the Las Vegas Raiders' headquarters, it offers a prime location serving diverse medical needs within the community. As a 150-bed facility, West Henderson Hospital maintains an extensive range of services designed to provide comprehensive care to patients. This includes 24/7 emergency care, advanced cardiac services like cardiac catheterization labs, an interventional radiology lab for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, specialized neurology care, various surgical operations covering general surgery, orthopedics, and weight loss surgeries, as well as gastroenterology and endoscopy services. The hospital is also equipped with advanced imaging capabilities, laboratory services, respiratory care, and inpatient nursing, delivering a full spectrum of medical attention. With an emphasis on delivering top-tier healthcare services, this hospital stands as a vital institution within the greater Valley Health System network, ensuring high standards of patient care and medical excellence.
The role available at West Henderson Hospital focuses on food service preparation, specifically targeting the timely preparation, seasoning, and cooking of meals for a varied audience including patients, employees, physicians, and visitors. This position is crucial in maintaining the quality and nutritional standards necessary in a healthcare environment, where meal provisions significantly impact patient recovery and overall satisfaction. Candidates in this role must be aligned with the healthcare setting's distinct needs, exhibiting skills that cater to food service in an institutional context, including food safety and dietary concerns unique to patient care. The job operates on a full-time varied shift basis, providing ample work hours integrated into the hospital's dynamic schedule. Although a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, candidates who have graduated from a formal institutional cooking program are highly regarded. Experience in similar roles is advantageous, along with possession of a current Southern Nevada Health District Food Handler Safety Training Card, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Understanding of the needs across different patient age groups is also essential, underscoring the importance of tailored service delivery in this sensitive environment. This food preparation role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the hospital's mission by supporting patient wellbeing through nutrition, alongside a supportive and growth-oriented work environment. This position benefits from an inclusive workplace ethos, committed to equal employment opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, or other protected statuses, fostering diversity and inclusion within the team at West Henderson Hospital.
