Job Requirements

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • basic level of education
  • basic knowledge of English to understand instructions
  • basic math skills
  • ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
  • manual dexterity for using kitchen equipment
  • ability to work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces
  • willing to maintain neat and clean appearance
  • able to follow safety and health regulations
  • willing to learn and follow recipes
  • ability to communicate effectively with team members

Job Qualifications

  • Cooking experience preferred
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles
  • ability to learn proper cutting techniques
  • ability to operate beverage equipment
  • 1-year cooking experience or culinary degree preferred for line cook
  • ability to train, support, and provide guidance to prep cooks and stewards/dishwashers
  • good working knowledge of broiler and saute cooking fundamentals
  • good working knowledge of sanitation standards
  • good working knowledge of cutting techniques and presentation
  • ability to function effectively in an alacarte cooking environment
  • for banquet cook, 1-year experience in high-volume environment preferred
  • advanced knowledge of plating and timing
  • ability to adjust output to minimize waste
  • hold a current Food Handler Card
  • basic proficiency in English
  • basic math skills
  • ability to comprehend and apply written instructions

Job Duties

  • Prepare daily preparation lists for production
  • read and employ math skills to follow recipes
  • prepare all broiled and sauteed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications
  • visually inspect, select, and use only food items of the highest standard
  • check and control proper storage of product and portion control
  • keep refrigeration, equipment, and work areas clean and in working condition
  • maintain all logs related to cooling, heating, and temperature
  • adhere to all company policies, procedures, and brand standards
  • follow safety and security procedures and rules
  • know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilize protective equipment
  • report unsafe conditions and incidents to management
  • provide a safe work environment
  • maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • perform related duties as requested by management
  • assist other kitchen personnel when needed
