Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification
- one or more year of food industry experience preferred
- ability to stand for long periods
- capacity to lift heavy items
- ability to tolerate temperature extremes
- manual dexterity for handling equipment
- ability to communicate clearly
- willingness to work variable shifts including weekends
- availability for on-call work
Job Qualifications
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
- one or more years experience in the food industry preferred
- demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- knowledge of safe food handling techniques
- ability to prioritize workflow and meet deadlines
- customer service skills preferred
- skills in preparing modified diets preferred
- experience with commercial cooking equipment preferred
Job Duties
- Prepares and cooks food
- serves customers
- follows recipes and instructions in food preparation
- prepares bulk food items and specialty meals
- maintains clean and sanitary work environment
- rotates food products appropriately
- interacts with customers in all venues
- delivers patient meals, cashiering, stocking, and operates ware-washing machines
