Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification
  • one or more year of food industry experience preferred
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • capacity to lift heavy items
  • ability to tolerate temperature extremes
  • manual dexterity for handling equipment
  • ability to communicate clearly
  • willingness to work variable shifts including weekends
  • availability for on-call work

Job Qualifications

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
  • one or more years experience in the food industry preferred
  • demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • knowledge of safe food handling techniques
  • ability to prioritize workflow and meet deadlines
  • customer service skills preferred
  • skills in preparing modified diets preferred
  • experience with commercial cooking equipment preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks food
  • serves customers
  • follows recipes and instructions in food preparation
  • prepares bulk food items and specialty meals
  • maintains clean and sanitary work environment
  • rotates food products appropriately
  • interacts with customers in all venues
  • delivers patient meals, cashiering, stocking, and operates ware-washing machines
