The role of Cook at Aramark offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to bring recipes to life while expressing their creativity. As a Cook, you will work closely with fresh ingredients and top-quality kitchen equipment to experiment with a variety of cuisines, flavors, and cooking techniques. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation
  • Various cooking methods
  • Food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull and/or walk and stand for extended periods
  • Must comply with uniform and personal protective equipment requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets
