The organization places a strong emphasis on creating a supportive and inclusive workplace culture, aimed at fostering growth, learning, and career advancement for its employees. Their commitment to patient well-being and employee satisfaction has established them as a reputable leader in healthcare food services.

The role of Cook/Assistant Chef at Cantex Continuing Care Network is pivotal in ensuring that patients receive meals that are not only nutritionally balanced but also prepared and presented with care and efficiency. This position requires a meticulous approach to food preparation, emphasizing both quality and safety in a healthcare environment where patient dietary needs are a top priority. The Cook/Assistant Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to authorized menus, ensuring that all food is served in a timely manner and meets the strict standards of hygiene and sanitation mandated by healthcare regulations.

This role goes beyond simple food preparation; it involves managing food production schedules to minimize waste, maintaining clean and sanitized work areas, and adhering to precise food labeling and storage protocols. The Cook/Assistant Chef collaborates closely with the Nutrition Services Director or Chef to prepare special meals and snacks tailored to individual patient needs, which requires attention to detail and a thorough understanding of dietary restrictions and requirements. Additionally, this position may involve supervisory responsibilities, such as training new staff members and ensuring that all team members uphold the high standards of food safety and patient care.

Cantex offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package that reflects its commitment to employee well-being. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans, supplemental benefits like life and disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, and generous paid time off encompassing vacation, sick leave, and holidays. The organization also supports career growth and advancement opportunities, complemented by a company culture dedicated to compassionate care and employee support. Uniforms are provided, and many additional perks are available to enhance the work experience.

This full-time position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about healthcare food service and who seek to contribute meaningfully to the quality of patient care through their culinary skills.
