The role of Dining Services team member at MetroHealth Medical Center is essential in supporting patient care through nutrition and hospitality. Job Requirements

  • Possess Level Two Person in Charge Food Protection Certification from an Ohio Department of Health approved body or obtain within 90 days
  • Minimum 1 year experience in high-volume food service or high-quantity food production cooking
  • Understanding of basic food preparation and cooking methods
  • Ability to comprehend English language for recipes, logs, and communication
  • Ability to clearly and accurately verbalize menu options
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations related to cooking
  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day
  • May need to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Normal vision with or without correction
  • Normal hearing with or without correction
  • Ability to climb intermittently during the day
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift 100-300 pounds
  • Ability to see computer monitors and documents
  • Some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products
  • Exposure to warm and cold temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • Level Two Person in Charge Food Protection Certification or obtain within 90 days
  • Minimum 1 year experience in high-volume food service or high-quantity food production cooking
  • Understanding of basic food preparation and cooking methods
  • Ability to read and comprehend English for recipes and kitchen communication
  • Effective verbal communication skills for menu explanation
  • Ability to perform simple cooking-related mathematical calculations
  • Completion of culinary certification or culinary coursework preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Basic understanding of therapeutic diet plans preferred

Job Duties
