Job Description
Rich Entertainment Group (REG) is a diverse and expansive entertainment company focused on creating memorable and enjoyable experiences for friends and families through its varied entertainment and dining ventures. REG operates across multiple sectors including catering, specialty cakes and desserts, restaurants, minor league baseball teams, and recreational venues. Notably, it manages western New York's preferred catering service, Rich's Catering & Special Events, known for impeccable service and creative culinary offerings. The group's restaurant portfolio includes prominent establishments such as Kaiyo Grill & Sushi and Green Turtle Inn, located in Islamorada, Florida, reflecting REG's commitment to quality dining experiences.
In addition to food and hospitality, REG promotes active and cultural lifestyles by managing Canalside and Outer Harbor in beautiful waterfront settings featuring arts, culture, entertainment, and fitness events. Beyond entertainment and cuisine, the Travel Team within REG delivers top-notch travel experiences worldwide, catering to corporate, group, and leisure travelers alike. The various REG operations are under the ownership umbrella of Rich's, a family-owned food company with a global presence in 100 locations and annual sales exceeding 4 billion dollars.
The Cook position at Rich Entertainment Group is integral to maintaining the high culinary standards for which REG is known. The role specializes in preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of menu items including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts, ensuring all dishes meet Rich’s exacting quality and presentation guidelines. The cook will be expected to demonstrate proficiency across all areas of culinary arts, including a la carte and banquet cooking, mastering cooking methods such as poaching and sautéing, and executing sauces and compounds with consistency. This position serves as a key support role in daily kitchen operations, contributing to production efforts wherever needed, and may also assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of supervisory chefs.
Ideal candidates will have significant culinary training and experience, with the ability to follow recipes precisely and manage large volume food preparation efficiently. They must be familiar with food safety regulations, proper food storage, and maintaining sanitary kitchen conditions. Candidates will demonstrate effective communication skills, leadership capabilities, and teamwork, supporting the kitchen’s fast-paced environment. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods, as well as visual acuity for quality control. This position offers competitive pay ranging from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience and location, with a flexible schedule that may include shifting locations as operational needs dictate. As part of Rich’s, the cook will contribute to a family-oriented culture that values fairness, inclusivity, and career development.
