Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one year of food service experience including cooking in an institutional setting preferred
- ability to work with individuals with a mental disability
- good interpersonal and organizational skills
- good communication skills
- flexible to change
- prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
- demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn new skills
- must be able to obtain Food Handler's permit within 30 days of employment
- must be able to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment
- must successfully pass criminal background checks

Job Duties
- Prepares and serves nutritionally balanced meals twice per day for consumers and team members following health and safety regulations
- prepares and supplies food to remote sites for consumers and team members following safety and health regulations
- monitors food portions
- follows recipe cards to prepare meals, adjusting quantities as necessary
- prepares special menus based on consumer medical needs as directed by Kitchen Supervisor
- prepares food for special company events as directed by Kitchen Supervisor
- cleans kitchen as necessary during the workday
- works with consumers in a rehabilitative mode in the absence of Kitchen Supervisor
- participates in team member meetings, individual supervision, and assigned committees
- participates in at least 24 hours of continuing education annually
- maintains ethical and competent consumer and peer relationships
- complies with federal, state, county laws, and Sound policies and procedures
- performs all job duties in accordance with OSHA and company-designated safety and health regulations
- performs other duties as assigned
