The Cook B position at Legends Global plays a crucial role within the culinary operations, working under the direction of the Executive Culinary Team. This role is responsible for supporting all culinary functions with an emphasis on precision, quality, and efficiency. The position involves preparing various foods according to set recipes and standards while maintaining a professional and positive demeanor at all times. A Cook B is expected to execute station requirements timely and accurately, demonstrate intermediate knife skills, and have knowledge of classic vegetable cuts. This role includes knowledge and support in set-up and function of buffet carving and action stations as well as entry-level skills in meat and fish butchery, protein carving, and proper portioning. The Cook B prepares classic sauces, soups, and stocks with minimal supervision and manages cold food production such as guacamole, salads, dressings, sandwiches, and dips. Hot food preparation includes skills like reheating, smoking, roasting, grilling, braising proteins, and using kitchen equipment such as tilt skillets, combi ovens, grills, and fryers. The candidate should be familiar with a la carte service and have the ability to work multiple stations in a fast-paced environment.
Moreover, the role requires understanding of production sheets and event orders and the ability to execute them with limited oversight. The Cook B may need to step in to expedite events or service in the absence of supervisors. Collaboration with premium purchasing and warehouse teams is essential for managing daily ordering needs. Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn, maintain compliance with county health and sanitation standards as well as Legends Global’s internal standards, and be able to multitask effectively while maintaining excellent guest relations and product quality. Flexibility is key as the role may involve rotating to different service locations throughout the property. The position is part-time and seasonal, based onsite at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA, with an hourly rate of $27.50. It requires physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and other repetitive motions. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to obtain CA Food Handlers Certification
- Willing to work variable hours according to event schedule
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years of cooking and food prep experience in the foodservice industry preferably in premium services, catering, or concessions
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management
- Strong commitment to high-level customer and client service
- Customer service oriented with ability to interact at all management levels
- Flexibility to work extended hours including late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- High attention to detail and organization
Job Duties
- Maintain a friendly, positive attitude and a professional demeanor at all times
- Timely execution of station requirements to specification of Executive Culinary Team
- Follow recipes and cook them to desired specifications
- Demonstrate intermediate knife skills and classic vegetable cuts
- Set up and function of buffet carving/action stations
- Perform entry-level meat butchery, fish butchery, protein carving, and proper portioning
- Create classic sauces, soups, and stocks with minimal supervision
- Produce cold foods including guacamole, salads, dressings, sandwiches, and dips
- Prepare hot foods such as reheating, smoking, roasting, grilling, and braising proteins
- Work multiple stations in a fast-paced a la carte restaurant service
- Interpret production sheets and event orders with minimal supervision
