Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 1 year of food service or cooking experience in a licensed childcare center, school, or healthcare setting
  • knowledge of CACFP guidelines
  • ServSafe certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
  • CPR or First Aid certification preferred or ability to obtain

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks aligned with USDA and CACFP nutritional guidelines
  • oversee kitchen operations including sanitation, menu planning, and food safety compliance
  • maintain inventory, order supplies, and track costs with fiscal responsibility
  • supervise and guide kitchen assistants to ensure smooth operations
  • coordinate with teachers daily to confirm meal counts and special dietary needs
  • provide flexible support by assisting with light administrative or classroom tasks during non-meal times
  • maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment in line with Georgia DECAL licensing requirements
