Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior cooking experience, preferably in senior living or healthcare settings
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in senior living preferred
  • Experience with production methods, portion control and food handling safety
  • Great organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail and presentation of food product
  • Ability to work weekends

Job Duties

  • Prepare hot and cold menu items which requires working on the grill, saut station, salad-bar and on the service line
  • Ensure the proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and the standardized recipes
  • Taste and prepare food to determine quality and palatability
  • Follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and work stations
  • Assist with inventory management and stock control
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service
