- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Texas Food Handler Certificate preferred
- knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic methods
- knowledge of universal precautions and rules that govern hazardous waste
- previous experience in skilled nursing facility preferred
- ability to follow oral and written directions

Job Duties
- Prepare food items on assigned or scheduled menus
- maintain sanitation of equipment, utensils, work area, storage area, and serving area
- follow proper food handling procedures
- ensure meals are prepared according to resident diet specifications
- comply with dietary and sanitary regulations
- coordinate with dietary and nursing staff
- apply universal precautions and handle hazardous waste appropriately
