Job Requirements
- Completion of high school or equivalent
- No specific experience required for Cook 5 level
- One year experience in quantity cooking for Cook E6 level
- Two years experience in quantity cooking including one year as Cook E6 for Cook 7 level
- Must pass background screening including felony conviction check
- Willingness to comply with ethical standards and report conflicts of interest
- Ability to complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET)
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in quantity cooking and food preparation
- One year of experience for Cook E6 level
- Two years of experience for Cook 7 level, including one year equivalent to Cook E6
- Ability to follow established cooking procedures
- Leadership skills for Cook 7 level
Job Duties
- Perform cooking and food preparation tasks under supervision
- Use independent judgment in cooking tasks following established procedures
- Oversee work of lower-level cooks and kitchen helpers
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained
- Manage food portion control and inventory
- Assist in menu planning and recipe execution
- Train and support new kitchen staff and prisoner workers
