Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation for experienced level
  • two years of experience including one year equivalent to experienced level for advanced level
  • passing background checks according to Public Act 191 of 2017
  • ability to pass ethical standards and loyalty requirements
  • completion of all submission requirements including application and references
  • willingness to complete required training programs

Job Qualifications

  • ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • leadership skills for advanced level
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation

Job Duties

  • perform cooking and food preparation tasks
  • oversee food preparation operations at advanced level
  • provide on-the-job training and guidance to less experienced cooks and helpers
  • ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
  • manage inventory and supplies related to kitchen operations
  • follow established recipes and portion controls
  • supervise prisoner workers in kitchen tasks
