Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- no specific experience required for Cook 5
- one year of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation for Cook E6
- two years of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation including one year at Cook E6 level for Cook 7
- ability to pass background check and meet ethical standards
- no felony convictions or satisfactorily completed sentences if applicable
- submit official transcripts for education verification
- provide at least three professional references
Job Qualifications

- two years of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation including one year at Cook E6 level for Cook 7
- ability to work under supervision and independently

Job Duties
- perform cooking and food preparation tasks for residents of state facilities
- receive on-the-job training and practice skills for Cook 5 level
- independently perform full range of cooking and food preparation assignments for Cook E6 level
- follow specific instructions and established procedures for cooking tasks
- oversee work of lower-level cooks, kitchen helpers, and prisoner workers as a Cook 7
- maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- contribute to meal planning and quality assurance
