Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Ability to read and understand recipes
- Experience in a back-of-the-house food service position preferred
- Basic math skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds or more, standing and walking for entire shift
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to follow procedures and directions
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of six months to one year previous experience in back-of-the-house food service position preferred
- Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations
- Familiarity and experience with knife handling are preferred
- Ability to communicate with others and work in a fast-paced environment
- Attentive and detail oriented
- Capable of following procedures and taking directions
- Basic math skills to calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions
Job Duties
- Prepare food to comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures, ensuring proper food temperatures are maintained, food is stored correctly, the freshness and quality of all menu items, and packages all products to proper specifications
- Keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
- Use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory
- Communicate effectively with serving team members to fulfill guest orders
- Follow food safety and sanitation regulations at all times
- Assist with special event setups and other kitchen-related tasks as needed
