Job Description

Solstice is a boutique new home community nestled near popular Littleton, Colorado, at the southernmost point of the High Line Canal. This intimate residential neighborhood emphasizes a harmonious balance with nature, home, and family. The community showcases gorgeous homes for sale and promises fabulous future amenities, all set in a prime location close to parks, open green spaces, golfing, shopping, restaurants, and various recreational options. The Cook 3 position at Solstice is a full-time role offering pay in the range of $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. Newly hired employees are eligible for a $250 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment. The role is within the Food & Beverage Department and reports directly to the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef. This position plays a critical role as a member of the culinary team, responsible for food preparation, cooking, and serving. The Cook 3 is expected to work and master all kitchen stations, ensuring high standards of service that meet and exceed both guest and employee expectations. Candidates must be seasoned cooks with substantial experience in commercial kitchens, capable of executing a wide range of culinary techniques including baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and precise measuring/mixing of ingredients.

The role involves crafting soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles. It demands attention to detail in food quality through tasting, smelling, and visual checks along with the ability to carve meats, portion food correctly, and garnish orders attractively. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation as per a detailed daily checklist is mandatory to preserve the workspace’s hygiene standards. Candidates must be highly customer-oriented, able to work under pressure, and demonstrate excellent team-building skills. The position requires flexibility in work schedules, including evenings and weekends.

Solstice offers a supportive work environment with a comprehensive benefits package. Full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for medical, dental, and life insurance from the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Paid Time Off accrues at a rate of 120 hours per year, and seven paid holidays are available annually. Part-time team members can accrue paid sick leave according to state guidelines. All employees aged 21 and above can participate in the company 401(k) plan after 30 days of service.

This position usually operates in an indoor kitchen environment but may also involve outdoor event settings. It exposes the employee to heat, steam, fire, noise, and occasionally outdoor weather conditions, demanding adaptability and physical stamina. The job includes manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced setting. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to maintain hygiene through frequent hand washing. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Work and master all kitchen stations
  • Ensure superior standards of service meet the requirements of guests and employees
  • Proactively exceed guest satisfaction and resolve any challenges from guests or employees
  • Follow daily cleaning schedule and checklist to maintain a clean and sanitary environment
  • Prepare food by washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding vegetables and fruits
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles
  • Cook foods using various techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • Observe and test food quality by tasting, smelling, and visual inspection
  • Carve meats, portion food on serving plates, add gravies and sauces, and garnish servings to fill orders
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
