Based at the iconic KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York, Delaware North operates a variety of concessions, clubs, and suites within the 19,200-seat arena, including a prestigious members-only fine dining restaurant. As a family-owned company with over 100 years of history, Delaware North has grown into a global hospitality leader with operations spanning national parks, casinos, sports arenas, and more. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional experiences for guests while fostering a workplace culture focused on collaboration, growth, and the pursuit of excellence. Delaware North not only values its team members but also provides a supportive environment that offers unique paths for career advancement across its diverse operations.
As a seasonal Cook at Delaware North Sportservice within the KeyBank Center, you will be an essential part of a dynamic culinary team. This role offers the opportunity to hone your culinary skills in a high-energy, respectful, and creative kitchen environment. The Cook position is designed for individuals passionate about food preparation, quality, and safety. You will take responsibility for reviewing menus, preparing a variety of food items according to strict portion and quality standards, and operating kitchen equipment efficiently. Compliance with all health codes and sanitation regulations is a critical aspect of the role, ensuring that every meal served meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
Delaware North offers this role at an hourly wage of $17.50, with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your personal and professional wellbeing. The benefits include weekly pay, employee discounts, flexible work schedules, and training and development opportunities to advance your skills and career. For eligible team members, additional benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, paid vacation days, paid holidays, parental bonding leave, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement.
Working as a Cook in this esteemed venue means embracing a fast-paced work environment that demands physical stamina and a strong commitment to excellence. Your daily responsibilities will include preparing food items in compliance with portion sizes, department rules, and quality standards; maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment; managing food waste according to guidelines; and performing opening, closing, and side work duties. You will play a proactive role in inventory management and ensure that all food products are stored correctly to preserve freshness and safety.
Delaware North values team members who have at least one year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house food service position, with the ability to read prep sheets and recipes accurately and basic math skills to measure ingredients precisely. The physical demands of the role include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and exposure to varying temperature conditions. Your ability to operate kitchen equipment and prepare a range of foods will directly contribute to delivering memorable food experiences at one of the region’s premier sports and entertainment venues.
Joining Delaware North means becoming part of a global legacy within the hospitality industry. The company actively promotes equal employment opportunities and is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. Whether you are looking to build a career in culinary arts or gain valuable experience in the foodservice industry, this seasonal Cook position at KeyBank Center offers a rewarding and supportive environment where you can grow professionally and contribute to a celebrated team.
