Job Description

Trilogy Valor is the newest anticipated resort community located within the master plan of Valor in the Treasure Valley area, southwest of downtown Boise, Idaho. It is designed as a vibrant active adult lifestyle community, offering an exceptional living experience with a centerpiece resort club that includes a fitness center, culinary studio, coffeehouse, pickleball and bocce courts, outdoor event space, and various amenities that foster both wellness and social engagement. The Cook 2 position within Trilogy Valor's Food & Beverage Team plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, cooking, and exceptional guest service. This full-time position offers a pay range of $18 to $20 per hour and provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, paid time off, and participation in a 401(k) plan after eligibility requirements are met.

The role is centered on mastering one kitchen station and taking full responsibility for the quality and efficiency of food prepared and served. The Cook 2 is expected to follow precise recipes, adhere to strict food safety protocols, and maintain a sanitary kitchen environment through routine cleaning schedules. They will prepare ingredients such as vegetables and fruits, and skillfully cook meats, fish, vegetables, and other menu items using various methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming. The Cook 2 will also be responsible for tasting and visually inspecting the food to ensure it meets high standards before serving, as well as plating and garnishing dishes to fulfill orders accurately.

In addition to cooking duties, the role requires strong customer orientation and responsiveness, handling guest satisfaction with professionalism, and effectively resolving any challenges that might arise during service. Working in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure, the Cook 2 must balance multiple priorities while maintaining teamwork and cooperation with colleagues. The position may occasionally involve working at outdoor events and requires physical stamina, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds as well as perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and good auditory and visual skills.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • minimum of two years cooking experience in commercial kitchen
  • current food handlers card
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • ability to speak effectively before customers or team members
