Job Description

First Watch is the leading daytime dining concept in the United States, renowned for its made-to-order breakfast, brunch, and lunch offerings made with the freshest ingredients. The company prides itself on a chef-driven menu that rotates multiple times per year to highlight the peak flavors of the season. This approach delivers elevated versions of classic favorites and innovative dishes like the Kale Tonic juice, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Quinoa Power Bowl, and the signature Million Dollar Bacon. As a business, First Watch operates more than 630 restaurants across 32 states, continuously expanding its footprint and redefining daytime dining experiences nationwide. The company has earned numerous accolades, including "Best Breakfast" and "Best Brunch" awards, and was voted the #1 Best Breakfast by Newsweek's Readers' Choice Awards 2025. Beyond culinary excellence, First Watch is widely recognized as a workplace of choice, being named the #1 Most Loved Workplace in America for both 2024 and 2025 by the Best Practice Institute, with appearances on this prestigious list since 2022. This accolade was highlighted in The Wall Street Journal, further underscoring First Watch's commitment to employee satisfaction and positive work culture.

At First Watch, the "YOU FIRST" philosophy sets it apart as an employer. This culture centers on putting employees first, ensuring their happiness and empowerment. The company guarantees no night shifts and offers a fully chef-curated menu so team members can confidently deliver exceptional breakfast, brunch, or lunch experiences. Employees have the independence to make decisions that positively impact the customer experience, reflecting the company's belief that their people are as valuable as their beloved bacon. This supportive environment encourages collaboration and mutual respect among team members.

As a Back-of-the-House team member or cook at First Watch, you will be part of a passionate group that respects quality food deeply. The role involves preparing menu items with great care and attention to detail, as if placing a personal signature on every plate. New cooks receive training in specific kitchen stations tailored to their skill levels and interests, allowing them to grow professionally without the need to master every cooking skill immediately. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality, safe food in a fast-paced setting, following award-winning recipes using the freshest ingredients, and maintaining a clean, sanitized, and organized workspace. Communication and teamwork are highly valued attributes in this role. The position is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old and are eager to contribute to a vibrant, customer-focused dining environment.

First Watch also demonstrates strong community responsibility by donating portions of proceeds from every kid's meal served to organizations that positively impact local communities. To date, the company has raised approximately $2.0 million for various charitable causes. The company's dedication to quality, hospitality, and community involvement makes it an employer of choice for those who appreciate a meaningful job in food service. As a First Watch employee, you gain access to a wide range of benefits that emphasize health, wellbeing, and work-life balance.
