Job Description
Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is a leading provider specializing in foodservice management for healthcare and senior living communities across the United States. Founded with a mission to enhance the quality of life for those in care facilities, HCSG is committed to delivering personalized, high-quality dining experiences that positively impact patient and resident wellbeing. As a reputable company in the healthcare food service industry, HCSG combines innovative culinary techniques and a deep understanding of dietary needs to ensure that nutrition and taste go hand in hand. HCSG’s culture emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and a strong commitment to excellence in customer and resident experiences.
The cook role at HCSG represents a critical position within our long-term care foodservice operation, focused on preparing and cooking nutritious, delicious meals that meet planned menus and dietary standards. This position offers an hourly pay rate between $21.00 and $23.00 and is ideal for individuals passionate about cooking and dedicated to making a positive impact on residents’ lives. The cook will follow detailed recipes and menus while ensuring high standards of taste, quality, and presentation are consistently met. Food safety and sanitation guidelines are paramount in this role to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly kitchen environment.
In addition to meal preparation, the cook will assist with inventory management, ensuring supplies are adequately stocked, and support overall kitchen operations. Interaction with residents, staff, and guests will require excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude. The role is physically active, requiring the ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks while standing or walking for extended periods. HCSG supports its employees with robust training programs, career development opportunities, and benefits such as free telemedicine, employee assistance programs, and financial wellness support, all aimed at fostering a supportive and enriching workplace experience.
This position also requires compliance with health and safety standards, including COVID-19 vaccination policies and state-specific food safety certifications like ServSafe or a Food Handler certification. Residency within the service area is required, making the position particularly well suited for candidates who are local and committed to contributing to the community. HCSG offers a welcoming, inclusive environment that values diversity and encourages employees to bring their best and authentic selves to work. This is not just a job but an opportunity to join a caring organization dedicated to improving lives through quality foodservice in healthcare settings.
