Job Description

Cardinal Bay is a mission-driven, not-for-profit senior living health care organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents. Founded on a strong set of core values—Respect, Excellence, Appreciation, Connection, and Honor—Cardinal Bay fosters a nurturing environment where residents can grow, thrive, and actively contribute to community life. The organization is committed to creating meaningful relationships, promoting a sense of belonging, and supporting the holistic wellness of each resident. As a reputable provider in the senior care community, Cardinal Bay emphasizes compassionate care and a respectful, engaging atmosphere for both residents and staff alike.

Village on the Park Oklahoma City, a part of Cardinal Bay, is currently seeking a full-time Cook to join their culinary team. This role is essential in continuing the organization's narrative of compassionate and high-quality care. The Cook will play a pivotal role in preparing delicious, nutritious meals that cater to the unique dietary needs of senior residents while delivering a dining experience similar to that of a restaurant or country club. The position offers a balanced work-life schedule, avoiding late-night shifts to ensure employees have quality time to rest and recharge. Working in a creative culinary environment, the Cook will collaborate closely with the Culinary Director to innovate menu items using the finest raw materials and advanced food production technologies.

The ideal candidate is someone passionate about food, with experience in restaurant kitchens or a culinary arts background. Responsibilities include preparing full meals, creating gravies and sauces from scratch, ensuring adherence to special dietary requirements, and maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and food safety. The role offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with residents, witnessing their enjoyment of the culinary creations firsthand, making the job rewarding beyond typical kitchen work.

Benefits for full-time employees include comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage with significant employer contributions, paid vacation time that increases with tenure, and various discounts and perks to support employee wellbeing. Additionally, Cardinal Bay provides life insurance coverage, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with matching contributions, paid training programs, and opportunities for advancement and cross-training within its eight community locations. The shift schedule for this role is Wednesday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays.

Overall, this position is a fantastic opportunity for culinary professionals who want to make a meaningful impact in a senior living setting, working in an environment that values creativity, respect, and community connection while enjoying excellent benefits and a supportive workplace culture.
