Our senior living community is currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team of professionals who are passionate about making a significant difference in the lives of our residents, their families, and the surrounding community. Guided by our CAPLICO Core Values — Celebration, Accountability, Passion for Learning, Love One Another, Intelligent Risk Taking, Customer Second (Employee First!), and Ownership — we strive to foster a supportive and enriching environment for both our residents and staff. These values not only shape our organizational culture but also inform the way we approach every aspect of our service and care.
In the role of Cook, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that all residents and staff receive efficient, timely, and friendly food service that consistently meets high standards of quality. You will be responsible for maintaining excellent sanitation and safety procedures while preparing and presenting food that meets both nutritional and aesthetic expectations. This position requires a solid knowledge of food preparation techniques and the ability to follow recipes meticulously to ensure consistency. Your responsibilities will include ordering, receiving, and rotating stock in collaboration with the Food Service Director, as well as preparing and serving food items for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as assigned.
We value a candidate who is eager to learn new food preparation techniques and takes pride in their role within a team. The ability to understand and accommodate special dietary needs, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and handle conflicts or customer complaints professionally are key components of this role. Dependability, punctuality, and self-motivation are essential attributes, as is the capability to work with minimal supervision. Familiarity with food safety and equipment safety procedures and a willingness to uphold community quality standards are also critical.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with at least one year of cooking experience, including some short order and quantity cooking, and who either possesses Serv-Safe certification or is willing to obtain it upon hire. As an equal opportunity employer, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to ensuring an inclusive hiring process. Join us and be part of a team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through excellent culinary service and compassionate care.
