Job Requirements

  • minimum of one year of cooking experience including short order and quantity cooking
  • must possess Serv-Safe certification or be willing to obtain upon hire
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • willingness to learn new food preparation techniques
  • knowledge of special dietary needs
  • ability to work effectively with a team
  • ability to manage conflict
  • ability to multitask
  • follow all food safety and equipment safety procedures
  • dependable
  • punctual
  • self-motivated
  • able to work without constant supervision

Job Qualifications

  • minimum of one year of cooking experience including short order and quantity cooking
  • knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • willingness to learn new food preparation techniques and presentation
  • knowledge of special dietary needs of residents
  • demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team
  • ability to effectively deal with conflict or customer complaints
  • ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • knowledge of and compliance with community quality standards and requirements

Job Duties

  • ensure efficient, timely, and friendly service to all residents and staff
  • maintain proper sanitation and safety procedures
  • prepare and present high quality food
  • order, receive, and rotate stock with Food Service Director
  • follow recipes to ensure product consistency
  • prepare and serve food items for breakfast, lunch, or dinner
  • assist with meeting or exceeding resident dining expectations
