Job Description

First Watch is a renowned daytime dining restaurant known for its chef-driven menu that focuses on serving made-to-order breakfast, brunch, and lunch using the freshest ingredients available. Established as a leader in daytime dining, First Watch embraces its "Follow the Sun" culinary philosophy, which means the menu rotates multiple times per year to feature the highest-quality flavors at their peak. This approach allows First Watch to offer elevated versions of classic favorites, fresh juices like the Kale Tonic, and signature dishes such as the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Quinoa Power Bowl, and the famous Million Dollar Bacon. The brand has won numerous awards including "Best Breakfast" and "Best Brunch," and was voted #1 Best Breakfast by Newsweek's Readers' Choice Awards in 2025. It also earned the distinction of being the #1 Most Loved Workplace in America in 2024 and 2025 according to the Best Practice Institute.

First Watch is committed not only to quality food and exceptional hospitality but also to community impact. They give back by donating a portion of proceeds from every kid's meal to causes that positively affect local communities, having raised approximately $2 million to date. With over 630 locations across 32 states, the company continues to expand while maintaining its high standards. At First Watch, they have a core philosophy called YOU FIRST, which prioritizes employee happiness and empowerment. Employees are given independence to make decisions that enhance the dining experience, and the company promises no night shifts ever, reinforcing a healthy work-life balance.

The open Back-of-the-House Cook position at First Watch invites individuals who have a respect for quality food and a passion for preparing meals that make a difference in the customer experience. The role involves training on a specific cooking station tailored to the employee's comfort level and skills, so mastering every kitchen task isn't mandatory at the start. Cooks work closely with award-winning recipes and the freshest ingredients, contributing to a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization. This position requires teamwork, communication, and responsibility to deliver high-quality, safe food promptly.

This role is ideal for those who want to contribute to a highly respected brand known for culinary excellence and a supportive, inclusive culture. First Watch offers a unique opportunity to be part of a company that truly values their people above all else, with comprehensive benefits and a welcoming team environment that empowers you to grow and shine in your culinary career.
