Our establishment is a bustling restaurant dedicated to delivering quality food and excellent customer service in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Cook to join our team. This position offers an opportunity to work under the supervision of the Manager on Duty (MOD) and participate in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen maintenance.
The role of the Cook is vital to the success of our kitchen operations. This position involves cooking, preparing, and packaging food products according to our operational and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating various kitchen stations, including the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep areas. Attention to detail and adherence to company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines are essential for maintaining product consistency and customer satisfaction.
In addition to the core cooking responsibilities, the Cook will be tasked with performing regular cleaning and sanitation duties to uphold health and safety standards. This includes managing trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing work areas, cleaning equipment, and safely disposing of grease. The position requires a commitment to regular attendance and flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Beyond the essential daily tasks, the Cook will also be responsible for reporting any customer or employee complaints or issues to the MOD promptly. The role may require physical tasks such as moving and stocking food products weighing up to 50 pounds. Additional duties will be assigned as necessary to support the kitchen operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the food preparation areas.
This position demands a candidate with general restaurant or retail knowledge, capable of basic math and reading, who communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. The ability to follow directions closely and multitask efficiently in a fast-moving kitchen environment is critical. The work environment involves continuous physical activity such as standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting. It also includes regular exposure to heat, hot liquid shortening, freezer conditions, and sometimes extreme temperatures due to weather variations.
