The Cook position at Trilogy is vital, centered around preparing and serving nourishing meals that enhance the health and wellness of residents. Located at The Willows at East Lansing in East Lansing, Michigan, this role is perfect for individuals passionate about culinary arts and committed to safety, nutrition, and resident satisfaction. The Cook is responsible for scratch-making meals according to dietary guidelines and planned menus, ensuring the highest quality and safe food handling practices. The role demands creativity, attention to detail, and an understanding of dietary needs for aging populations. The Cook also supports the Food Service Manager, handles inventory control, orders supplies, and maintains cleanliness within the kitchen to promote food safety and efficiency.

Additionally, the Cook plays a key leadership role by supervising dietary staff when the Food Service Manager is unavailable, setting up service stations such as breakfast bars and steam tables, and preparing snacks and pantry items for resident areas. Job Duties

  • Prepare fresh scratch-made meals using a recipe for residents according to planned menus and dietary guidelines
  • assist the Food Service Manager with inventory control and ordering supplies
  • properly store food and kitchen supplies to maintain freshness and prevent waste
  • supervise and support dietary staff when the Food Service Manager is unavailable
  • set up breakfast bars, steam tables, and other meal service stations
  • maintain cleanliness in work areas and ensure all kitchen cleaning tasks are completed
  • prepare and stock snacks and standard pantry items for resident areas
  • utilize technology and computerized systems to efficiently and safely create a great dining experience for our residents and families
