The role of a Cook in the Food and Nutrition Services department at Medical City Frisco plays a critical part in enhancing patient, visitor, and colleague experience through the preparation of nutritious and attractive food. Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in food preparation or cooking
- Ability to comply with health department regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours including shifts
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of food service experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and production guidelines
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen environment
Job Duties
- Prepares both cold and hot menu items according to standard recipes for various hospital stakeholders including patients, employees, and community agencies
- Maintains equipment in kitchen to required standards
- Assists in storage and proper handling of deliveries
- Maintains kitchen area according to state required sanitary standards
- Completes all tasks on duty adhering to safety standards and hospital policies
- Performs additional duties as assigned
