Job Description
Wingstop is a leading brand in the casual dining and fast-food industry, renowned for its dedication to serving bold, fresh, and never-faked flavors. Established in 1994, Wingstop quickly emerged as the go-to destination for those craving hand-cut seasoned fries, fresh wings, and a variety of famous sides. The company’s commitment to quality and consistency has empowered it to grow from a humble beginning to a flourishing franchise, boasting one billion wings served by 2002 and continuing to expand rapidly. At Wingstop, flavor is the core philosophy, permeating everything they do, and they proudly position themselves not just as a wing restaurant but as a flavor destination that captivates customers who demand taste excellence in every bite.
Wingstop’s culture is centered on flavor, community, and customer experience, making the workplace vibrant, challenging, and rewarding for all team members. The company serves more than meals; it offers a flavor experience that guests remember long after their visit. The workplace environment is dynamic and fast-paced, where teamwork and a passion for great food help drive success. Employees are given the chance to grow alongside the brand, benefiting from a supportive management team and a well-structured operational framework designed to help team members thrive.
Currently, Wingstop is looking for dedicated and passionate individuals to join their team as cooks. This is a full-time, on-site role with an hourly pay rate of $14 to $15. The cook position is integral to maintaining the Wingstop brand’s promise of quality and flavor. As a Wingstop cook, you will be responsible for preparing menu items that meet the company’s high standards for quality, taste, and presentation. Your day-to-day work will involve adhering strictly to food safety practices and handling procedures to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
The cook plays a pivotal role in upholding the brand’s reputation by ensuring every wing, fry, and side is prepared perfectly according to Wingstop’s established standards. From carefully cooking Bone-In Wings, Boneless Wings, and Boneless Strips in the appropriate fryers and baskets to accurately counting and portioning servings into the correct sauce bowls, the role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and dedication. Seasonal cleaning duties, equipment maintenance like fryer shortening filtering, and applying proper sanitation practices are also part of the essential responsibilities to keep the kitchen safe and orderly.
Moreover, the cook position demands excellent communication skills and teamwork, as you will frequently coordinate with managers and co-workers to respond to customer needs and manage kitchen operations smoothly. The ability to stay calm and organized under pressure, manage multiple orders simultaneously, and maintain cleanliness throughout your shift are all crucial components of success in this role.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a genuine desire to deliver great guest experiences, and an outgoing personality. Prior cooking or line cook experience is beneficial but not explicitly required as training and development will be provided. However, having a current Food Handler Certification is mandatory to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
