This job opportunity is for a part-time Cook position at Red Lobster, an establishment renowned for its high standards in food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The role requires preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to established recipes while ensuring proper portion control and adhering to health and sanitation standards. The Cook is responsible for organizing and stocking preparation and line stations, cleaning and disinfecting kitchen areas and equipment, and checking ingredient quality and freshness. Additionally, the role includes covering other cooking positions during busy periods, underscoring the need for adaptability and teamwork.

Job Requirements

  • Must meet minimum age requirement and be authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and safely lift up to 30 pounds
  • Capacity to stand for an 8 to 12-hour shift
  • Capability to work as part of a team with attention to detail and multitasking ability

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation

Job Duties

  • Accommodate and stock preparation and line stations
  • Clean, disinfect, and organize kitchen area, equipment, and utensils
  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients
  • Prepare, season, and cook food according to recipes, specified quantities, and portion control systems
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas, utensils, and equipment to ensure compliance with safe and sanitary food handling practices
  • Substitute or assist other cooks and kitchen positions during peak periods
