Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- Ability to work onsite full-time during day shifts
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to follow standardized recipes
- Strong critical thinking and judgment skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant cooking or food preparation experience
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and prepare food safely
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and kitchen staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Critical thinking and decisive judgment skills
Job Duties
- Review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared
- Follow standardized recipes in preparation of all foods
- Plan cooking schedule with supervisor and/or executive chef to ensure food readiness at specified times
- Confer with supervisor and/or executive chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
- Adhere to guidelines regarding storage, handling, and preparation of food and ensure sanitation and maintenance of work area
- Use critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to work with minimal supervision in fast-paced environment
- Take appropriate action to maintain food quality and safety
