This employment opportunity is for a full-time, onsite Cook position within the PVH Food Nutrition department. The role operates on a day shift schedule, encompassing 64 hours per pay period (two weeks). Compensation ranges from $19.10 to $24.83 per hour, depending on the applicant's relevant experience. This position demands working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, requiring skills such as critical thinking and decisive judgment. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food for hospital patients, the cafeteria, and catering services, following predefined menus and standardized recipes to ensure food is prepared on schedule and compliant with dietary modifications. You will also ensure adherence to strict guidelines relating to food safety, sanitation, and maintenance of the working area.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience
  • Ability to work onsite full-time during day shifts
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to follow standardized recipes
  • Strong critical thinking and judgment skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant cooking or food preparation experience
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and prepare food safely
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and kitchen staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment skills

Job Duties

  • Review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared
  • Follow standardized recipes in preparation of all foods
  • Plan cooking schedule with supervisor and/or executive chef to ensure food readiness at specified times
  • Confer with supervisor and/or executive chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
  • Adhere to guidelines regarding storage, handling, and preparation of food and ensure sanitation and maintenance of work area
  • Use critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to work with minimal supervision in fast-paced environment
  • Take appropriate action to maintain food quality and safety
