Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience
  • Ability to work onsite full-time during day shifts
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes
  • Strong critical thinking and judgment skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant cooking or food preparation experience
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and prepare food safely
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and kitchen staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment skills

Job Duties

  • Review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared
  • Follow standardized recipes in preparation of all foods
  • Plan cooking schedule with supervisor and/or executive chef to ensure food readiness at specified times
  • Confer with supervisor and/or executive chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
  • Adhere to guidelines regarding storage, handling, and preparation of food and ensure sanitation and maintenance of work area
  • Use critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to work with minimal supervision in fast-paced environment
  • Take appropriate action to maintain food quality and safety
