Job Description
Our senior living community is part of The Pennant Group, Inc., a respected holding company overseeing a network of independent operating subsidiaries specializing in healthcare services, home health and hospice agencies, and senior living communities across the United States. Each subsidiary operates autonomously, with dedicated management, employees, and assets, allowing tailored, community-specific care focused on the unique needs of their residents. This structure enables our senior living community to provide compassionate, high-quality services designed to enhance the wellbeing and lifestyles of older adults.
We are a senior living community committed to delivering exceptional care and support to our residents and their families, grounded in the CAPLICO Core Values which define who we are and how we operate. These values include Celebration, Accountability, Passion for Learning, Love One Another, Intelligent Risk Taking, Customer Second (Employee First!), and Ownership. These principles guide every aspect of our work environment and service delivery, creating a culture that values respect, innovation, and teamwork.
We are currently seeking a Cook to join our dedicated team of professionals who share our passion for making a positive difference in the lives of our residents and their families. This full-time or part-time position plays an essential role in ensuring timely, efficient, and friendly meal service that meets or exceeds the dietary needs and expectations of our seniors. The Cook works closely under the supervision of the Food Service Director to maintain high-quality food preparation, presentation, and adherence to sanitation and safety standards.
The responsibilities of the Cook are integral to the dining experience at our community. This role involves preparing and serving food items for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as assigned, with careful attention to recipe consistency and food quality. The Cook must have knowledge of food preparation techniques, special dietary requirements of residents, and be adaptable to different cooking styles including short order cooking. Additionally, the Cook supports inventory management by ordering, receiving, and rotating stock in coordination with the Food Service Director, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
Critical to success in this role is effective communication, a willingness to continuously learn new food preparation and presentation techniques, teamwork, conflict resolution skills, multitasking abilities, and strict compliance with food safety protocols and community quality standards. Dependability, punctuality, self-motivation, and the ability to operate independently are also highly valued traits.
The ideal candidate for our Cook position will bring at least one year of cooking experience, particularly in quantity and short order cooking, accompanied by Serv-Safe certification or a willingness to obtain it upon hire. We strive to create a supportive and collaborative work environment where employees are empowered to deliver their best work and grow professionally. Joining our team offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others while working in a community that respects and values its employees.
If you embody our CAPLICO Core Values and possess the skills and qualifications needed for the Cook role, we encourage you to apply and become part of a team dedicated to delivering outstanding service to our senior residents and their families.
