Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a well-established and family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept founded in Glendale, California, in 1983. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, it stands as the largest family-owned Asian dining organization in the United States. The company is known for its dedication to delivering exceptional dining experiences that highlight Asian cuisine. Embracing strong family values, Panda Restaurant Group fosters a workplace that inspires employees to improve their lives while positively impacting the communities where they operate. The company's culture values teamwork, passion, and service, aiming to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Working as a Cook at Panda offers a pivotal role in this fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. The role is vital in creating food with passion, service with heart, and ambiance with pride, making you a key part of the team and the heart of the kitchen. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing all dishes according to company recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every meal served. You will also support the kitchen team by guiding and assisting with their training, fostering a collaborative and efficient workspace. Performing all back-of-house responsibilities, you contribute not only to food preparation but also to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

The position offers a flexible schedule and pays between $23.50 and $26.50 per hour, with individual pay dependent on factors such as work location and experience. The Cook role also includes opportunities for growth into management positions through on-going career and leadership development programs. Panda Restaurant Group values its employees by providing hands-on paid training and encourages career advancement within the company.

This role requires employees to be adaptable to a dynamic environment with changing priorities, requiring strong verbal communication skills and the ability to manage conflicts and difficult situations effectively. Physical demands include standing up to four hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, working in hot and noisy kitchen spaces, and effectively using kitchen tools including Chinese cook knives. Safety practices including food safety and local certification are mandatory.

Panda Restaurant Group is committed to equal opportunity employment and actively promotes diversity and inclusion. It complies with all applicable laws related to workplace accommodation and discrimination prevention. Individuals seeking accommodations during the application or hiring process are encouraged to reach out to the company. The company benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; voluntary disability coverage; retirement plans with company matching; flexible spending accounts; paid time off; associate discounts; referral bonuses; and community engagement opportunities. This comprehensive benefits package, combined with a supportive work environment and career advancement opportunities, makes Panda Restaurant Group an attractive employer for cooks who are passionate about their craft and dedicated to providing exceptional dining experiences.
