The Cook position at Sodexo, based at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, offers full-time employment with a competitive pay range of $18.00 to $18.90 per hour. This role is vital in delivering high-quality food preparation and culinary service that meets Sodexo’s rigorous standards in a fast-paced, health-focused environment. The Cook will be responsible for the accurate preparation, portioning, cooking, and presentation of both hot and cold foods across various meal periods and events, ensuring exceptional dining experiences for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires adherence to strict food safety regulations and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen workspace.

Working as a Cook at Sodexo involves more than just preparing meals—it’s about contributing to a team that values safety, efficiency, and culinary excellence. You will work under the guidance of kitchen supervisors and collaborate with team members to meet production goals, manage inventory, and provide consistent, great-tasting dishes. The position demands physical stamina including walking, standing for extended periods, and handling kitchen equipment safely. Shift schedules vary between mornings and afternoons/evenings, with specific details provided during the interview process.

Employees benefit from a comprehensive package that includes paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, 401(k), discount programs, and other site-specific perks such as free meals and transportation support. Sodexo values inclusion and equal opportunity, ensuring every employee is treated with respect and given the chance to thrive in their own unique way.
