Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years previous culinary experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • Active Food handler’s certification or ability to get it
  • Willingness to work a variety of day, night, and weekend shifts
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to be on feet for long periods
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Minimum age of 21 years

Job Duties

  • Assist culinary leadership team in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining
  • Develop knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods such as grill, sauté, and fry
  • Use knives and various kitchen equipment proficiently
  • Read and recreate recipes consistently
  • Minimize food waste through cross utilization
  • Create and maintain workstations with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by chopping and peeling vegetables and cutting meat
  • Keep kitchen environment sanitized and orderly
  • Ensure proper storage of food and other items
  • Maintain quality of ingredients
