Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States with close to 2,800 locations globally. Known for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences, Panda is committed to building an organization where people are inspired to better their lives. The restaurants are not just eateries but vital community hubs that emphasize family values, inclusivity, and growth for both team members and guests. With a strong heritage and a forward-looking approach, Panda offers a work environment where employees can thrive personally and professionally while contributing to a vibrant dining culture. The company is an equal opportunity employer focused on workplace diversity and accommodation, ensuring a supportive atmosphere for all associates.
The role of a Panda Cook is central to the success of each restaurant. As a Cook, you are not only responsible for preparing delicious food that meets the company’s recipes and quality standards but also for creating an inviting ambiance with pride and passion. This position offers the unique opportunity to be a leader in the kitchen by guiding and assisting the training of the kitchen team, which fosters a collaborative and positive back-of-house environment. You will perform all Back of House responsibilities with precision and dedication, helping ensure that every dish served enhances the guest experience.
This is a fast-paced, growth-oriented role, requiring adaptability and a commitment to excellent service. The position is hourly, with pay ranging from $23 to $26 per hour depending on factors like experience and location. Panda values flexibility and recognizes the importance of work-life balance, offering flexible schedules tailored to associates’ needs. Working as a Cook for Panda means being part of a dedicated team focused on delivering consistent quality food and an outstanding dining experience to guests. The job also demands adherence to food safety standards, including obtaining local or municipal food handling certifications.
As a team member at Panda, you can expect a comprehensive benefits package alongside opportunities for hands-on training, leadership development, and career advancement within the company. Safety, communication, and efficiency are critical components of this role, and associates must be prepared to work in high-temperature environments, manage long periods of standing, and handle kitchen tools safely. The company encourages continuous growth and provides resources to support career pathways into management positions.
