Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Two or more years of cook experience in food services or equivalent
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, or bend for up to eight hours
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated interest and knowledge about elderly care
- Willingness to learn and develop skills
- Compassion and self-motivation
- Competency in nutritional monitoring and assessment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of experience as a line cook or equivalent in food services
- Formal or on-the-job training in resident care, nutrition, food production, sanitation, safety, and management
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in English sufficient for communication
- Compassion for elderly and sick
- Self-motivation
- Basic knowledge of dietary needs for elderly residents
Job Duties
- Personally get to know residents
- Participate in resident orientation
- Perform dietary services according to handbook and care plan
- Participate in care planning and support resident independence
- Recommend and involve in food service programs
- Record and use pertinent resident information
- Request guidance and training as needed
- Discuss and resolve food service and care coordination problems
- Be cost conscious
- Manage leftovers and inventories
- Comply with health, safety, and infection control practices
- Maintain professionalism and customer service
- Prepare soups, sauces, salads, desserts, and menu items
- Clean work areas and utensils
- Label and date food before storage
- Secure and lock storage and refrigeration
- Handle resident concerns professionally
- Communicate relevant information to supervisor
- Devote full time and attention while on duty
- Promote the importance of food services
- Perform other tasks as required
