Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a leading family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept founded in Glendale, California in 1983. As the largest restaurant brand of its kind in America with nearly 2,800 locations globally, Panda Restaurant Group has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to its customers. This company takes pride in its family values and its commitment to inspiring people to improve their lives through meaningful work and community engagement. They continue to grow by prioritizing the quality of their food, the warmth of their service, and the strength of their team culture. Employment with Panda offers vibrant opportunities in a dynamic, culturally rich environment where employees can develop both personally and professionally.

As a Cook at Panda Restaurant Group, you will play an essential leadership role within our kitchen team—the heart of the restaurant where passion for food and service come together. This role situates you in the core of a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment where your actions directly impact customer satisfaction and operational success. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare dishes according to company recipes and standards, ensuring consistent quality and presentation each time. Beyond cooking, you will support and guide new kitchen staff by assisting with their training and mentoring, fostering a collaborative and efficient kitchen atmosphere.

Working as a Panda Cook means you contribute to creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for our guests while performing full back-of-house duties. This includes managing time effectively, practicing food safety standards, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly during service hours. You will be expected to work standing for extended periods, handle kitchen equipment safely, and operate confidently in a noisy, hot, and fast-moving workspace. Physical stamina is necessary as employees may need to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Panda Restaurant Group values associates by providing flexible schedules, great pay, and free meals during work hours. Full-time employees benefit from comprehensive medical, vision, and dental insurance, as well as voluntary short-term disability and cancer income protection insurance. Other perks include 401K plans with company match, flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care, vacation and sick leave, associate discounts, referral bonuses, hands-on training, and opportunities for career advancement into management positions. The company also embraces inclusivity and equal opportunity employment, supporting workplace accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act to ensure all applicants can fully participate in the hiring and employment process.
