Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a leading, family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept founded in 1983 in Glendale, California. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda is recognized as the largest family-owned Asian dining chain in America. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences inspired by family values, community involvement, and a commitment to the growth and well-being of its associates. Panda's mission is to create an inviting environment for both guests and employees, making it a vibrant and dynamic workplace that fosters career advancement and leadership development.
Our Panda Cook associates are essential leaders within our team and serve as the heart of our kitchen operations. As a Cook, you will play a central role in a fast-paced and growth-oriented atmosphere, where every dish you prepare reflects passion and dedication. Every aspect of your work will support a welcoming environment where guests can enjoy quality food and a positive dining experience. You will not only prepare dishes adhering strictly to Panda’s company recipes and quality standards but also guide and assist the kitchen team with their training and development.
This role requires a team-oriented individual who thrives in a bustling restaurant setting and takes pride in maintaining excellent service standards and kitchen operations. Panda offers flexible schedules, competitive pay ranging between $26 and $29 per hour depending on factors such as location and experience, and a comprehensive benefits program for full-time associates. Benefits include medical, vision, dental coverage, voluntary short-term disability, cancer income protection insurance, 401K with company match, paid training, and career advancement opportunities. This position ensures you are continuously supported and valued while contributing meaningful work to a growing organization.
In addition, Panda Restaurant Group emphasizes equal employment opportunities and adheres strictly to laws protecting against discrimination on a wide variety of bases including gender, race, disability, and veteran status. The company complies fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and provides reasonable accommodations throughout the application and employment process.
Working in a Panda kitchen environment means being comfortable handling physically demanding conditions such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working amid heat and high noise levels. You will utilize various kitchen tools, including Chinese cook knives, and perform your duties with quickness and accuracy. If you have strong communication skills, are adaptable to change, and capable of effectively managing workplace conflicts, you will find an excellent fit with the Panda team.
As a Panda Cook, you will have the rewarding experience of creating food with passion, delivering service with heart, and contributing to an ambiance crafted with pride. This role is pivotal to Panda’s success, providing a foundation for personal growth and the potential for advancement into management positions. Join Panda Restaurant Group and become part of a family that values your contribution and supports your career journey.
