Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., established in 1983 and headquartered in Glendale, California, is recognized as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda Restaurant Group has built a strong reputation for offering exceptional Asian dining experiences that blend quality food with outstanding customer service. The company prides itself on fostering a culture rooted in family values and community impact, inspiring employees to enhance their lives while serving guests delicious meals in welcoming environments. The company has grown significantly since its founding, maintaining close ties to its origins and continuously evolving to meet changing consumer expectations. Panda’s mission is to create vibrant dining experiences by bringing together great food, exceptional service, and a rewarding workplace environment.
As a Panda Cook, you will play a crucial role in supporting this mission by being at the heart of the kitchen operations. Your responsibility will be to prepare all dishes according to established company recipes and quality standards, ensuring that every meal served meets Panda’s high expectations for taste and presentation. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation who thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented setting. As a cook, you will not only focus on food creation but also contribute to maintaining a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests. In addition, you will guide and assist in the training of the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages skill development and efficient workflow.
Working at Panda means embracing a role that is both dynamic and essential to the restaurant’s success. The kitchen environment is fast-moving and may involve exposure to heat, steam, and noise, requiring physical stamina and effective communication skills. You will be expected to stand for extended periods, lift ingredients or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and utilize various kitchen tools such as Chinese cook knives safely and efficiently. Attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to perform under pressure are critical traits for success in this role.
Panda values the growth and development of its employees, offering hands-on paid training and ongoing career and leadership development opportunities. The company also emphasizes diversity and inclusion, ensuring an equal opportunity workplace where every individual can thrive regardless of background or identity. As part of a supportive team, you will have the chance to grow into management positions and help shape the future of this leading restaurant group.
In summary, joining Panda Restaurant Group as a Cook places you in the center of a vibrant and expanding food service organization committed to quality, service, and community values. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop culinary skills, work with a dedicated team, and contribute meaningfully to an iconic and beloved brand in the American Chinese dining market. If you are passionate about food and customer satisfaction and are looking for a rewarding career path with plenty of support and advancement possibilities, this position is an excellent fit.
