Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in Glendale, California in 1983, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda is passionately committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering an inclusive work environment that inspires employees to improve their lives. As a company deeply rooted in family values, Panda Restaurant Group cherishes its people as the core drivers of its ongoing success and growth. With a mission centered on positively impacting both team members and communities, the brand has grown from a single restaurant into one of the most recognized and beloved names in Asian cuisine. Known for its authentic flavors, fast-paced service, and warm hospitality, Panda continues to expand and evolve to meet the needs of its diverse customer base. The company prides itself on creating vibrant guest experiences across its various locations, where each restaurant serves not only as a place of dining but also as a hub of culture and connection.
We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Cook associates to join our dynamic kitchen team. In the role of Cook, you will be an integral leader in our kitchen operations, responsible for crafting great tasting food with passion while delivering heartfelt service and contributing to a welcoming ambiance. This position offers a unique opportunity to thrive in a fast-moving and growth-oriented environment where you will play a central role in producing dishes that meet Panda's rigorous standards. As a Panda Cook, you will be at the heart of our culinary team, overseeing the preparation of menu items adhering strictly to company recipes to ensure that every guest enjoys consistent, high-quality meals.
Your responsibilities will include supporting a positive team environment, guiding and assisting kitchen staff through training and daily tasks, and performing comprehensive back-of-house duties to keep pace with customer demand. We value leadership and collaboration and encourage our Cooks to act as mentors within the kitchen, helping to foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance. The position demands the ability to work efficiently under pressure, maintain cleanliness and organization, uphold safety standards, and contribute proactively to problem-solving and kitchen workflow optimization.
The pay range for this role is $24 to $27 per hour, with individual wages determined based on factors such as experience and location. We offer flexible scheduling which helps accommodate your lifestyle, and we provide an extensive benefits program for full-time associates that includes medical, vision, dental, voluntary short-term disability insurance, and 401K with company match. Full-time employees can also access health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, earned paid time off including vacation, sick leave, bereavement, and leave share programs. Employees enjoy additional perks such as free meals during shifts, discount programs across various brands, referral bonuses for eligible team members, and opportunities for paid training and career advancement. We cultivate a supportive workplace where employees can develop their skills and progress into leadership or management roles within the organization.
Working at Panda Restaurant Group demands a physical ability to perform tasks that include standing for extended periods, handling kitchen equipment, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a hot and sometimes noisy environment. Effective communication skills, adaptability in a dynamic workplace, and the ability to manage conflicts calmly are essential qualities for success.
As an equal opportunity employer, Panda Restaurant Group is committed to fostering diversity and inclusion without discrimination or bias. Candidates requiring accommodation during the application or interview process are welcome to request assistance. Join Panda Restaurant Group and become part of a company that values your contributions, supports your professional growth, and encourages you to make a difference both inside and outside the kitchen.
