Evergreen Healthcare Group is known for fostering an environment that encourages loyalty, honesty, and a strong sense of community among its staff and residents alike. The group manages several healthcare facilities including Independence Health and Rehabilitation Center, which exemplifies these values through its comprehensive care programs and enhanced living experiences for patients. Independence Health and Rehabilitation Center, located at 1525 Monmouth Avenue, Independence, OR, is actively seeking a qualified Cook to join its dietary department. This center is part of Evergreen Healthcare's network of healthcare facilities and is recognized for its specialized services aimed at rehabilitation and long-term care.
The Cook position is a key role in the dietary department, responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious, and appealing meals to residents. The position emphasizes preparing pre-planned cycle menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that are healthy, delicious, and align with the center's enhanced dining program. The Culinary team at Independence Health and Rehabilitation Center prides itself on culinary excellence, ensuring every meal supports the well-being and satisfaction of residents. The Cook will need to efficiently and effectively execute food preparation tasks, read and interpret production orders accurately, and maintain strict standards for food quality, taste, and presentation. The role also involves assisting with planning cooking schedules, confirming that meals are ready on time for tray service, and maintaining high standards for food storage and hygiene practices.
Beyond food preparation, the Cook supports inventory management by checking food supplies against order forms and helps maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas. The role requires practical knowledge of sanitation and hygienic methods to ensure all food handling complies with health department regulations. Candidates must demonstrate competency in using kitchen equipment safely and effectively. Physical demands include moderate to heavy lifting, bending, reaching, and stooping to meet the daily requirements of meal preparation and service.
Evergreen Healthcare Group emphasizes the professional development and well-being of its team members. As part of their employment, the Cook will benefit from comprehensive health plans including medical, dental, and vision coverage, access to daily wage payouts through DailyPay, life insurance, employee assistance programs, and ongoing training and development opportunities. The work environment is supportive, prioritizing the care of both employees and residents, and dedicated to providing a meaningful and rewarding career pathway in healthcare culinary services. Overall, this Cook position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with culinary skills and a passion for healthcare to make a meaningful impact in a reputable and caring healthcare organization.
