This Cook position at Sodexo offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities, with an hourly pay range of $16.50 to $18.56. The role involves working afternoon and evening shifts on varying days, providing flexibility to accommodate different schedules. As a Cook, you will play a critical role in preparing, cooking, and presenting a diverse range of hot and cold food items that meet Sodexo’s high culinary standards for quality, presentation, and consistency.

The Cook is responsible for ensuring that all food products are prepared safely and efficiently, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines. This role requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment where teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence are essential. Your work will directly contribute to creating an outstanding dining experience for patients, staff, and visitors at the medical center.

In this position, you will prepare meals based on standardized recipes and production requirements, taste and adjust food as necessary, and maintain accurate records of food usage and inventory. Physical demands of the role include prolonged standing or walking during shifts that may exceed eight hours, occasional lifting of heavy items up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions. You will be expected to maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure compliance with health regulations and efficient kitchen operations.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Good working knowledge of food preparation

Job Duties

  • Prepare food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards
  • Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food needs, check production and maintain records
  • Perform significant walking or other mobility tasks
  • Walk or stand for extended periods during shifts
  • Perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, lifting, pushing or pulling
  • Attend work punctually and maintain regular attendance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
