The position available is for a full-time Cook at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center under Sodexo’s operations. As a Cook, you will be an essential part of the food preparation team responsible for accurately preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a diverse array of hot and cold dishes suitable for all meal periods and special events within the hospital. This role requires working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while adhering to Sodexo’s strict culinary standards for food quality, presentation, and consistency. Job Requirements

  • 0 to 2 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Good working knowledge of food preparation

Job Duties

  • Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • Maintain clean and organized workstation throughout shifts
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
