We are currently seeking passionate cooks to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a cook at Dragon Alley, you will be essential to the kitchen’s operation, ensuring excellent execution of our menu items that celebrate the diverse flavors of Asian street food. Your role will involve preparing a variety of meats, seafood, and vegetables using specialized cooking methods such as wok frying, grilling, and deep-frying. Maintaining quality and consistency is crucial, as every meal must be plated to exact chef specifications and served timely to enhance customer satisfaction.
This is a full-time and part-time position offering competitive pay ranging from $12.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience. Our work environment requires stamina and teamwork, with shifts that can span 10 to 12 hours, including daytime, nighttime, weekends, and holiday availability. Job Requirements
- No formal education required
- Ability to stand for long shifts up to 10 hours and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Basic kitchen safety knowledge
Job Qualifications
- Experience in line cooking or a fast-paced kitchen preferred but willingness to train candidates with a positive attitude
- Basic knife skills and fundamental cooking knowledge
- Ability to work flexibly including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a team
Job Duties
- Install and stock cooking stations with necessary ingredients and tools
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, and vegetables using woks, fryers, and grills according to established recipes
- Ensure all food is cooked to appropriate temperatures and plated according to chef's specifications
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety including cleaning workstations and following food storage guidelines
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff and other cooks to ensure timely service during peak hours
