Job Description

This vibrant restaurant operates from 6:00am to 2:00pm, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for culinary professionals. The Line Cook role is essential in maintaining the operational flow of this busy kitchen. This position requires a versatile and skilled individual who can proficiently manage cooking duties across five different stations as well as handle ingredient preparation. The Line Cook/Prep Cook works closely with other kitchen staff and the Kitchen Manager to ensure that food preparation runs smoothly, food quality is consistently high, and dishes are delivered on time. This role demands the ability to maintain composure under pressure and a cooperative spirit during busy shifts. Responsibilities include setting up and stocking workstations, preparing food items according to designated recipes, maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen, and adhering strictly to food safety protocols. The job also occasionally includes assistance in dishwashing and inventory management tasks. Employees in this position are expected to uphold professionalism and a positive demeanor, contribute to a supportive working environment, and participate actively in all aspects of kitchen operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working in a kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Good physical stamina
  • Willingness to work early morning hours
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and ServSafe certification preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic knife skills and cooking techniques
  • Flexibility to work early morning shifts
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Clean up station and kitchen
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out at high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Complete Temperature Logs and Checklists for daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Participate in all roles in the kitchen as required, including as dishwasher when needed
