The Cook position at ASM Global, specifically within the Pinnacle Bank Arena's Food & Beverage department, is a critical role responsible for supporting the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and timely preparation. This role involves hands-on work in food preparation including chopping, peeling, cutting meats, and cooking a variety of dishes using different techniques such as grilling, baking, and boiling. Cooks must possess a basic understanding of food ingredients and the ability to read and accurately execute recipes with precise measurements, ensuring consistent product quality. The position also demands excellent kitchen organization to maintain sanitary conditions and proper food storage according to health guidelines. Duties extend beyond food preparation to include tasks such as washing dishes, managing kitchen cleanliness, handling of raw and prepared foods safely, and complying with established safety and dress code policies. Physical demands are considerable, often requiring the ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in conditions involving noise, heat, and varying temperature changes. The schedule may require flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with event timings. Candidates typically need a high school diploma or GED, a Food Handlers Permit as mandated by the Lincoln-Lancaster Health Department, and one to three years of prior food service or restaurant experience. Culinary certification and ServSafe certification are preferred but not mandatory.
